2026 Edition · Annual Workshop
QBi²
Quantum Effects at the Biology and Innovation Intersection
QBi² is QBICON's flagship annual workshop, bringing the field's experimentalists, theorists, and builders together around one focused, fast-moving question at the quantum–biology frontier.

About the workshop
Two days, one frontier
Each edition of QBi² takes a single, sharply defined topic at the intersection of quantum physics and the life sciences and gives it two days of concentrated attention — talks, working sessions, and the kind of corridor conversations that move a young field forward.
The 2026 workshop centres on protein spin qubits and their optical control inside living systems: how engineered and natural spin centres in proteins can be initialised, read out, and coherently controlled with light — and what that unlocks for sensing, imaging, and computation in biology.
